Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) April 2024
Sexual Assault Awareness Month (“SAAM”) is an annual national campaign that occurs in April to raise public awareness about sexual assault and educate communities and individuals on how to prevent sexual violence. The Sexual Assault Prevention Committee ("SAPC"), which is co-chaired by Campus Advocates Respond and Educate to Stop Violence ("CARE") and OCRSM, leads and gathers representatives from student organizations and departments across campus to come together and create a calendar of events for this campus-wide initiative. The theme for SAAM in April 2024 was TEAL, which stands for Togetherness, Empowerment, Advocacy, and Learning. Each event that was part of SAAM 2024 had a TEAL campaign theme. Click on the arrows of the slideshow below to browse the advertisement flyers that were utilized during SAAM in April 2024.
*Instagram was the main social media platform that was utilized to post advertisements around SAAM. OCRSM partnered with organizations and departments such as the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, CARE, One Love UM, Preventing Sexual Assault (PSA), Student Government Association (SGA), and others to post advertisements around the events via social media.
**Campus newsletters hosted by departments and organizations were mainly utilized to post advertisements around SAAM.
