Policy Decoded: Understanding the Title IX Policy
Words and policies can be confusing! To help, the Office of Civil Rights and Sexual Misconduct is offering individual student organization "policy decoded" sessions for student organizations across campus. These sessions will provide an overview of the University of Maryland’s policy on sexual harassment and sexual misconduct (Title IX), including supportive measures, reporting procedures, tips for handling disclosures, and interactive activities.

Register for a session with our OCRSM policy training experts and get the scoop on how to navigate these important policies with confidence! To register, please click on the button below and selected "Policy Decoded."

Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) Resource Fair: Kickoff Event
Join the Sexual Assault Prevention Committee (SAPC) for their annual Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) Resource Fair! On October 4th from 12-2pm, the SAPC and partner organizations will be on McKeldin Mall to promote awareness and services related to power-based violence prevention and response on campus. Come browse tables and meet with representatives from various organizations! Cookies and refreshments will be provided, as well. How to Help a Friend: Lunch and Learn Workshop
Join CARE and OCRSM for How to Help a Friend Workshop on October 15th from 2-3pm in MICA Cozy Corner in STAMP! This workshop will focus on how to respond and navigate supporting a friend, peer, or partner that has been impacted by sexual misconduct. In this workshop, we will discuss what to do, how to respond, and also understand the importance of self-care.

Affirmation Art: Crafting Awareness and Understanding of Relationship Abuse
Join OCRSM for Affirmation Art: a lunch and learn workshop on October 22nd from 12:00 - 2:00 pm in Studio A in STAMP! This workshop aims to educate and bring awareness to students and community about the different types of relationship/dating abuse such as verbal, physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental abuse. Relationship abuse can show various forms. It is important to recognize that it goes beyond physical for early signs to leave an unhealthy relationship.

Cookies, Consent, & Cardmaking
Join OCRSM for Cookies, Consent, and Cardmaking!

Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and it's a time to celebrate love! This workshop will focus on identifying the 10 signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships and what consent is and what it is not. While doing this, students will be able to decorate and write cards, practice positive affirmations, and discuss what practicing healthy consent means to them. Cookies and light refreshments will be provided on a first-come, first served basis. Please contact Josie Urrea at jurrea@umd.edu to request any reasonable accommodations for the workshop. Come meet & greet members of the Office of Civil Rights and Sexual Misconduct (OCRSM) team in the SORC (Stamp first floor) from 3 - 5 pm on Tuesday, April 16th. Arts and Affirmations
As SAAM wraps up, it is important to practice self-care and self-love! This workshop will explore what practicing self-care and self-love look like for students while recognizing how the 10 signs manifest in the relationship with one’s self. During this workshop, students will explore self-care strategies and activities through various art forms including painting, vision board making, coloring, etc. Cookies and light refreshments will be provided! Navigating Online Relationships: Safety and Sextortion
Join OCRSM & One Love for Navigating Online Relationships: Safety and Sextortion. Meeting people, making friends, and dating online is very common for our generation! This workshop will focus on identifying the 10 signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships. In this workshop, we will discuss how current social pressures impact relationship-making with peers, partners, and professors. This workshop will also explore how to navigate social media and resources for sextortion safety. This workshop will be offered at two different times during September:

How to Help a Friend Workshop
Join OCRSM, One Love, and CARE for How to Help a Friend: A Lunch & Learn Workshop! All of us are in various types of relationships! It is important to know the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships, and know the tools to navigate helping people who are seeking your help, especially during Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). This workshop will focus on how to respond and what to do when navigating supporting a friend, peer, or partner, as well as explore the importance of self-care when supporting those we care around us.

One Love, Many Relationships Workshop
Join OCRSM, One Love, and Bias Incident Support Services (BISS) for One Love, Many Relationships! College is a new environment full of new people you are meeting, and a place to learn more about yourself! This workshop will focus on discussing the intersectionality of the identities that students have and how it impacts the relationship-making process. In this workshop, we will discuss exploring your own identities, interacting with people with different identities, and examining how identities impact relationships.

The Ultimatum: Queer Love - Discussion & Workshop
Join OCRSM, One Love, and LGBTQ+ Equity Center for The Ultimatum Queer Love: A Discussion About Queer Relationships! The new Netflix show, The Ultimatum: Queer Love, was very popular! Many of us watched it and enjoyed it! But, many of the queer relationships depicted exhibited unhealthy signs and qualities. This workshop will be a guided discussion centered around the new Netflix series, The Ultimatum: Queer Love. This workshop will discuss healthy boundaries, signs of healthy & unhealthy relationships, tactics for communication, and explore how domestic violence is not exclusive to heterosexual relationships.

Join OCRSM, One Love, and The Counseling Center for Grounding Yourself During the Holiday Season: A Lunch & Learn Workshop. The Holiday Season is difficult for many students! Come explore self-care methods, grab some free swag, and learn various coping mechanisms. This workshop will examine why holidays can be/are triggering for many people. Boundary Setting & the 10 Signs Workshop
Join OCRSM & One Love for Boundary Setting & the 10 Signs: A Lunch and Learn Workshop! This workshop will focus on challenges with setting boundaries. Attendees will discuss strategies for setting boundaries and practice enacting those strategies. Attendees will also learn about recognizing the 10 signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships.

Come by to meet and greet members of the Office of Civil Rights and Sexual Misconduct (OCRSM) team in the Student Organization Resource Center (SORC) on the first floor of the STAMP from 4-6pm on April 3rd, 2023. Refreshments and snacks will be available at this event.

Self Love Workshop
Join OCRSM & One Love for Self Love: A Lunch and Learn Workshop! 100% of us are in relationships, with the most important one being our relationship with ourselves. Join One Love and OCRSM for a discussion about self love and what healthy communication looks like with yourself. Attendees will also learn about the 10 signs of a healthy and unhealthy relationship and practice enacting those signs.
